Full Job Description
Conduct research on the politics of education, the effect of the pandemic on the nation’s schools, higher education financing, and a host of related school reform and education policy issues.
An intern for this educational team will assist with ongoing responsibilities associated with various long-term and short-term projects, including primary source research for reports and op-eds, editing, working with datasets, and administrative assistance as needed.
The ideal candidate will have strong research abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, a high level of attention to detail, curiosity and willingness to learn and explore the world of education policy, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask between various projects, and a clear interest in educational policy.
Our summer 2021 internship program will be conducted remotely– interns will need access to a personal computer and a stable internet connection. There will be two start dates for the summer program: June 1 and June 7. The program will run for a minimum of 10 weeks, although most interns’ end dates fall around late August.
Intern Scholarship Program
In the summer of 2021, we will offer up to six intern candidates a $1,000 monthly living stipend as part of a need-based scholarship program. Our hope is to allow students who would not be able to do so without financial assistance to reap the academic, professional, and personal benefits of interning at with our client. We offer a unique opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain experience in research, writing, business, and communications at one of the nation’s leading think tanks. Competitive candidates for these internships will generally possess a 3.4 GPA from a top ranking college or university.
Our internships last a minimum of 10 weeks and interns are required to work 20-40 hours per week. These internships are unpaid; however, applicants may apply for the intern scholarship opportunity.
